More speedboat. Less supertanker. Innovating in large organisations

Startups and scale-ups behave in fundamentally different ways to large complex organisations. And for obvious reasons. The external factors which shape well established entities - the market, growth and brand rules - are different. While internally their size requires a greater level of structure and process to function.

But what happens when large organisations need to innovate and then communicate that innovation to those it's intended to benefit? Moving like a supertanker - cautious and steady - won't cut it. Thinking differently often requires behaving differently. And that's when adopting the mindset and ways of working of smaller, more agile, less established organisations can be beneficial.

At this talk - given at Digital Leaders Innovation Week 2022 - Beth Pope explores why each of us can go further and faster than we ever thought possible, if we focus not only on what we’re doing, but how and why we’re doing it.

If Beth’s talk has inspired you to want to think more about the approach to innovation in your own organisation, take a look at our suggested thought-starter questions below.
